New A Life, Still Submission!

I am inspired by moments of life, moments of chance, the kind of moments only captured in street or documentary photography. I went to Havana, Cuba early this year with the intent to do just that. I was fascinated by the crumbing facade of buildings untended to.
This quiet moment existing above the busy street seemed somehow important. It was originally photographed in color, but I processed it in black and white to emphasize isolation and quiet.
The cage may represent stillness and the bird life - perhaps. I interpret the moment as a perpetual state of being prescribed by life. It may look one way on the outside, but can never be comprehended, enjoyed, or hated until it is fully experienced.
Kentuckian at heart, I now reside in the mountains of North Carolina in order to be surrounded by beauty and study photography. I am inspired by unscripted moments and the simple pleasures within life.
